Helpline
Boots on the Ground is a great Peer Support resource we utilize and promote to support First Responders.
From Boots on the Ground website: “Most people have no idea what a First Responder goes through, though they try. Even among our own, it can be hard to talk about "work". That’s why we started Boots On The Ground. It’s an anonymous Ontario-based helpline where First Responders can talk to someone who’s been through it. We’re not therapists. We’re here to listen. No call display. No judgment. -
I am a Chief Officer
Someone once said; “Everything rises and falls on leadership.” Leadership today is more complex and responsibilities heavier than in the past.
Today’s senior officers face great challenges in a post-pandemic world. Balancing budgets, recruitment, training requirements and keeping everyone on task can be a daunting responsibility.
Although there is increasing efforts in supporting first responders, more work is needed for Chief Officers. Leadership is lonely at the best of times.
Chief, we want you to know that you are not alone and we are here to support you as much as to support your crew. Our chaplains are available to encourage you by text, phone or at a coffee shop. All our conversations are completely confidential. Let’s talk.
